Wanted something more configurable than the usual locked-down character chat sites, and it definitely delivers on the “sandbox” promise. Between the different backends (their own LLM, OpenAI, others) and the character editor, I can build bots that remember deep lore, handle slow-burn romance, or go full NSFW without the convo getting hard-blocked every five messages.

I was just on my laptop one evening, bored out of my mind and curious about these character-chat AI sites,,,, so I tried Janitor AI. It’s basically a space where you can create or choose different AI personalities and just talk to them… roleplay, storytelling, random convos with virtual characters and all that. At first it was actually fun, ngl…… kinda sucked me in for a bit
